Braces are made up of a series of brackets and wires. The brackets are attached to each tooth with medical-grade adhesive, then a wire is shaped and attached to each bracket. The tension from the wire attempting to return to its original shape is what gradually moves your teeth into their correct position. Please let us know if you would like any further information.
Many of our patients are adults. We offer several types of treatment for adults, including braces and Invisalign.
Yes, there is a large, free parking lot attached to our building with plenty of spaces for patients.
Yes, many of our patients are from Orlando! In fact, some of our current patients are the children of past patients who now live in Orlando.
With our proximity to the turnpike and highways, most of our Orlando-area patients can get to our office in 15 minutes or less. Keep in mind that patients don't need to be seen nearly as often as they used to, which means fewer trips to the office.
Tweens and teens are the most common braces patients, but you can get braces at any age. More and more adults are improving the health of their smiles with braces well into their 50s. We recommend that children be seen by an orthodontist by age 7 to determine if early orthodontic treatment could reduce the amount of treatment theyβll need after all of their adult teeth come in.
Braces arenβt the torture devices people often make them out to be. Most patients experience some discomfort for a few days when they first get their braces and occasionally after adjustments. In fact, if you are experiencing pain that canβt be relieved with orthodontic wax, over-the-counter pain medication, or a cold compress, you should let your orthodontist know, because that is unusual.
Similar to braces, the treatment length for Invisalign varies based on how many issues are being fixed and how severe they are. Invisalign Express can take about three months to correct a crooked tooth or two, and Invisalign Full and Invisalign Teen can take up to 18 months. Not wearing aligners the recommended length of time per day can make treatment take longer.
Braces can take anywhere between six months to two years depending on the orthodontic issues being corrected and if the patient does everything they can to keep the treatment on track. However, the average treatment time for kids and adults with braces is 12 to 18 months.
No, a referral is not necessary. We offer free initial exams to anyone interested in orthodontic treatment for themselves or their children. We are also happy to provide a free second opinion if you have already seen an orthodontist recommended by your dentist. Thanks for your question!
We offer a free initial exam to all new patients. We provide treatment recommendations and pricing at our initial exams and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
The cost of Invisalign varies depending on what issues need to be corrected and how long the treatment takes. But it often isn't as much as patients think it will be. At your free initial exam, you will be provided with a comprehensive treatment estimate. We accept all major insurance and offer affordable payment plans.
