Easy to get bed, something to eat, I'm glad they were there when I needed them. Then to a full-time shelter. There is help !

Mixed. The environment there was not one of holy rescue, but of tired and frustrated desperation.

The doors open at 2pm and close at 7:45pm. There is no entry past 7:45 because that is when church service starts.
Normal shelters operate work on a first come 1st serve basis. You have to check in know only before 5 o'clock daily and you have to exit the next morning by normally 7:00 a.m. a 8:00 a.m. Long term shelter placement such as transitional housing is available through programs that you have to apply and be admitted in. you should dial 311 or DHH.
We have some bunk beds as well as mats that are used to sleep on the floor. There are 68 bunks but we can sleep up to about 140 men, and it is first come first serve. Doors open at 2pm and close at 7:45pm. Need a picture ID, but will let you in without one for up to 5 days. Need to be properly dressed, no shorts or tank tops. Must be able to walk up and down steps and cannot be a fall risk. Must be able to see. You cannot come in if you are high or drunk. We have a 5 day alcohol detox but no doctor or meds for withdrawals. Just a dry out period. I am the Asst. Supervisor.
I work the registration desk. You can walk in between 2pm and 7:45pm, no appointment. You need a picture ID, proper dress; no shorts, no tank tops. If you have no picture ID we will still let you in and we give you 2 months to get one. Cannot be a fall risk and have to be able to walk up and down steps. Have to be able to see. Cannot show up high or drunk, or be on oxygen. We have a nightly Gospel service that is mandatory and no smoking at all. This is what I tell everyone on the phone.
How long can I stay there in a homeless shelter
No they do not. Just food and clothing donations mainly
