They don't help for nothing I had tried multiple times in different time frame of my life.. first when I had my first child back in 2016 and got rejected because of making too much hrs. Ok but daycare isnt cheap but ok let's look at gross pay instead of what you actually make.. and hrs someone doesn't even matter because you can work a lot and still get nothing depending on your job and hrly rate.. second time I applied it was during the pandemic I was getting unemployment and here we go once again rejected because this time claiming I didn't give them any kind of income which I did sent them my unemployment.. now I just started working and here we go again show me paystubs that you work 60 hrs.. yet I can't because I haven't..so now what I still won't get help.. so how can I get daycare so I can work more?

This “assistance” is a JOKE. They don’t email you back, they don’t answer their phones. They even passed my application to 2-3 different people. Then denied me and had the nerve to say I’m over the income when 2022 guidelines are up for the public and I do not make the amount shown. Apparently you have to be dirt poor in order to get ANY help. Isn’t the requirement to work more then 30 hours a week? Minimum wage has gone up what do you expect!!!! After trying to appeal it my case manager and the CEO has not responded and it’s been almost 3 weeks. It’s good to know a child’s education means NOTHING. What parent can afford $600 for after care? What parent can leave their job at 2:00pm to pick up their child and still put food and a roof on the table. I find it hilarious that they all sit a desk all day and can’t even do their job properly. Your supposed to be “helping” families.

They really dont answer their phone or voicemails. There are too many people in Hudson County to help and they are over worked. Call and ask for a supervisor to be paged. If you get a voice mail then call again. And then call again and again. The woman that answers the phone will get so annoyed she'll get someone on the phone for you. If that doesn't work, go there on any day but Thursdays. But believe me if you call 10-20 times in a row, they will find someone for you to talk to. Stick with it, don't give up and stay positive. Try not to get mad at them. Hudson county is a tough place to get help. But if it wasn't for Urban League we would have no help and be paying $$$$$$$.
Its more about money spent on papers and ink to make copies for every single person. i get its frustrating because everyone dont have printers in their home but you are asking for financial assistance, making copies is the least we can do on our part.
To enroll you need to go to the Urban League office and fill out an application for child care. From there they will need a bit of documents and once approved you can start your child in day care or pre K three
