This place is pretty bad. Super dingy. My "non-smoking" room smelled strongly of smoke. And the bed was infested with bedbugs. This is the actual first time that I have ever left a bad review on a motel/hotel in my life. Or even a review at all. And my job requires me to be in a lot of them. It was so bad that I slept in my car rather than sleeping in the room. The cheap pricetag is not enough to outweigh how bad it is.

Stayed here a year ago for 2 weeks charged me reasonable weekly rate come back and ups rate by 55 dollars, neighbor paid same rate as a yes ago. Think they just charge random price, not cool. no room service laundry room needs to be cleaned. Other then that quiet and safe.

First let me say that the staff are exceptional. Very kind and accommodating. During my stay I was set back a few hours due to an accident on I-80 and the desk attendant stayed an hour after her shift to make sure I was able to receive the room key. Secondly, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the amenities (cable, microwave, minifridge). I felt very safe and comfortable for the night I spent and will certainly be stating again during my next trip to Chicago.

This place was great. We were newlywed husband and wife motorbike riders and had put in a very long day of travel. We were greeted warmly and price was great. Both bikes were able to be parked safely right outside our door. My bride kept commenting on although the place was older, they had taken extra pains to make it feel like home--extra decor and items that you don't expect at a roadside motel. In the morning there was a very much above average continental breakfast with home-baked goods and more choices than many chains we stayed at. We stayed in the older section which was very nice, but somewhat dated but very well done. They also have a newer section. I'm sure they were able to afford the newer addition simply on their service, and quaint homey feel that keeps people coming back. Would recommend The Plaza to anyone.
