My wife and I, being big fans of TV’s Heartland, decided to go horseback riding. I mean, we had a whole hour’s worth of experience about 8 years back, so why not? It was a lot of fun, and I had George the horse and my wife had Merk. My wife did great but my horse immediately knew it was in charge. I spent quite a bit of time trying to stop George from eating trees, weeds etc. but eventually we started working together. On the way back, it was all smooth sailing. I recommend the ride heartily.

It’s more a ‘walking’ stable, but fun nonetheless. The horses were very well behaved and gentle giants who knew the routine. They stayed in line and even turned around at the right spot with no coaching from me. I rode ‘George’ who stopped to eat trees every chance he got, which was great because it added a little excitement. It would of been nice to gallop in one of the fields or even be able to ‘walk’ side by side with the person you came with. If for no other reason than to share the experience. As it was all you saw was the back of the rider in front of you. I however did break the rules and walk up next to my girlfriend for a moment, before I was scolded and told to ‘get back in line’. Bottom line, it was fun and I’d do it again.

Enjoyable but we had paid for a private ride for an hour and, while we arrived early, it started on time the ride itself was only 40 minutes long and not fully trail ride. So while we had to pay extra for the private trail ride we didn't even experience the full hour for the additional 50% increase in cost per person. Especially since it was my son's birthday that we were there for. I dont think we will be returning.
