The forest is such a healing place to be. My family and I appreciate its beauty. It is all of that. Still the 'thinning' of the pines in order to 'manage' possible fire spread was disheartening. There isn't a shady canopy to walk in now. It felt too open and sunny rather than the pleasant cool of a forest filled with stately pines. I know the homeowners there must appreciate the potential for fire safety around their homes but I wondered about the wild life's homes and the impact the thinning has had on them. Still this is remains a beautiful place to center oneself. I hope this drought subsides soon. We did get two days of great rain. Splendid!

What a great in town stroll for families. Pray for rain as the creek bed was dry. Lovely area

This is a great Trail easily accessible and very friendly to walk. I wouldn't really describ it as a hike but if your looking for a scenic stroll, this is the place. Be aware that when you arrive the parking lot is basically the end of the residential street. If there are more than four or five cars there you will have to find a way to park without blocking the driveways along the road. There's also no water, the pictures featured are clearly of the rainy season, but as of this writing there is absolutely not an ounce of water anywhere along the trail and it is very dry.
