I bought a system less than a year ago and have an issue already. That's not the real problem tho... the problem is it's been over a month of trying to get service, calling e mailing, and I have yet to get a response of any kind no one answers the phone and no one responds to messages. This is outrageous!!.......... Edit: I was contacted by one of the installers and the problems were rectified. They also gave me direct contact info for the installers, who have been more than helpful since

I bought my first solar system from the owner, Michael back in 2006 when many of the solar businesses where very questionable in their practices. He was the only one that I found trustworthy. I bought another system from him in 2013. Everything was great until the last year. Unfortunately, I have literally been ghosted. I have been waiting for a battery replacement for over a year. No one checks back and when I call, nobody calls back. I finally contacted Michael in frustration and he did return the call but no follow up. Currently, I need a roof replacement. I called for an estimate. Again...nobody calls back despite me calling several times. Customer service has gone to zero. Very unfortunate.

I found the service to be very efficient, fast, honest and Dennis was very transparent. I compared his estimate with several solar panel companies with a difference of up to 25 thousand for the same system and they installed it in less than a day. Now I am waiting for the duck inspection to start save on my bill

I forgot that Google Reviews doesn't let you do fractional stars, because I would remove 0.2, for an actual rating of 4.8, but as that is too close to a 5 I'll just give them the full 5. The Good: First off, we love our solar. Seeing our bill plummet the way it did is such a good feeling. The guys installing it did a 10/10 job. They were so fast and did such a good looking job I can't help but applaud them. The electricians, who eventually came, also did a standout job. Because they use SMA String Inverters they are much less expensive than everyone else and if you have full sun do not let anyone try to convince you that you need some other kind of more expensive system as you will get nearly 0 extra benefit. If you have partial or full shade you will have some do some math as there are some benefits with other systems, although SMA ShadeFix definitely reduces the gap in those benefit/drawbacks. I need to preface that the sections "The Irritating" and "The Bad" are more gripes that only reduce my rating by 0.2. Once all this passes/passed (getting batteries and getting solar turned on) we don't have any issues at all. The Irritating: So I can't hold this against Solar Ray entirely, which is why I am putting it under irritating. JEA doesn't net meter, they only credit fuel cost (30% of total cost), which means I get to see the joy of my production being 97% of our consumption but our coverage is only 52%. Until batteries finally come available again, we could have gone with a system almost half the size and had almost the same result. So if you aren't planning on getting batteries and your company doesn't net meter seriously keep that in mind; you can reduce your system size fairly dramatically and have no change in your solar coverage. The Bad: The actual communication between Solar Ray and JEA/Duval County wasn't great. We had our solar on our roof for almost two months before it was actually turned on due to things either not being scheduled or the electricians and JEA not being here at the same time so constant rescheduling.

Questions & Answers

What warranty do you provide? What will be covered? Because it will include working on my roof. + I would like to get a quote.

Solar Ray stands behind their products after the installation. Warranty on panels is 25 years and 10 years on inverters (I think that's right). I've had my system for almost 4 years now. Anytime I have a question, I just call and Solar Ray makes it a non-issue.

How long does it take to measure and evaluate my roof?

Should take about 20 minus or so.

How fast can you install?

At the moment most of our installations take 6-8 hours. So most likely it will be done within 1 day.
