Used Paul Mitchell academies in NYC / Arizona/ New Jersey. Decided to give this one a try. Disappointed. Student was on her own, no instructors checking her work- haircut wasn’t that bad but the style- horrible, she didn’t know what she was doing at all. Student was nice and confident. I called back the school with some feedback.

Update 11/2021 I still go on Saturdays and you definitely must get there well before they open to get a spot. They are a great value and I've adjusted to going early enough to be first or second in line. I will continue to visit them. 2017 review I've been coming here since 1987 and the decline in service in the last year has been drastic. I can't come during the week, as I have a full time job, so I have always come on Saturdays. Today's visit started at 8:10 with me being put on the waiting list and being assured I would get called in a couple of hours. I was looking for a color and cut, but told the girl at the front that I would forego the color if I could get the cut. I stopped back by at 10 and was told another couple of hours. I again told her that I really just needed the cut. I called at 1:35 and was then told I would not be seen today. I deserved a call much sooner. If you are going to be open on Saturday for clients, then make sure you have enough students. I know this is a holiday weekend, but the extended waits have been present my last two visits (April and July), and they were putting people on waiting/call lists by 8:30. Maybe a change in your business model, to take appointments only on Saturday would result in greater customer satisfaction, or just don't open on Saturday. You are hurting your reputation and alienating long time customers by this half way commitment to Saturdays.

I've been natural for 7 years and I'm very pleased with the work Jacob did. I honestly just wanted the kinks out so that I can get my hair braided, but when he was done I was surprised that he got my hair as straight as he did especially with very little experience on natural hair. Plus I'm 8 months pregnant and he kept making sure I was comfortable and kept offering water. Such a sweetheart keep going Jacob! Also to the ladies that came over and helped thank you!
