Absolutely best to make an appointment or your could be waiting for hours to see a State Tax representative. Its miles worse if you need to see someone on the Federal Tax side! Their office is on the adjacent street.

I'm not sure what is "wrong" for you but the cases are assigned by your last name. Next time ask for the supervisor of the workers for those starting with "A" or "W" or "S", etc. Make sure you get the names of each person you talk with, the date and time and write a synopsis of what each one said. Get FULL names, phone number and extensions. Try to get the supervisor and the supervisor's supervisor's name as well. Climb the ladder of whom you talk with! RECORD, RECORD, RECORD EVERYTHING!!!

It's open, but by appointment only. They don't have the staff to handle walk-ins. The security and it's agent were very pleasant to deal with.

I did and both times it said it couldn't give me any information and I called the IRS and got a voice recording saying it couldn't give out information and they weren't taking any calls at this time.

I made an appointment! My problem is with the state. Make sure you reach the right office. We stopped at the Federal office by accident first and was told without an appointment, you could literally wait all day and then be told late in the afternoon they can't see you. Come back another day! Oh! If you come without an appointment they probably won't see you then either!!!! Thought I had great representative, but it's been 1 headache after the other! Don't expect miracles. It's been well over a year and still can't get all the info they want!!! In the meantime I can't get my federal refund because the state attached it! So if I file, the state grabs it 1st!
