Went to the original Abari Game Bar when my girlfriend and I first moved down here a couple of months before the pandemic and thought it was pretty cool. Super Abari is even better thanks to the larger space that they have. Not only that, they such a great collection of old school arcade cabinets and pinball machines that are all well maintained. You also have a giant Game Boy as soon as you walk in and is completely playable. I'd say the only downside if there is one is that there's no food on the premises. I don't know if it's because we're in NC, but so far every barcade I've visited after moving to the area does not offer food. Other than that, I'd highly recommend it and if you're a fan of fighting games you'll most likely find me there trying to rack up the wins with one quarter 😉

This place is so cool! Lots of old time pin ball machines and button-mashing video games, a long with a few modern ones. All games are anywhere from 25-50 cents per play, and you can buy quarters with a card if you don't bring cash. I'm not a gamer but I had a great time with friends here! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because their liquor drinks are expensive, $16 for a double 😵 compared to the beers that were $2.50, but I would go again!

This is actually a new location after the original Abari location closed. ( Naming the place Super abari is the best thing ever). As a result a lot of old reviews incorrectly got ported over. I once said Paranoia Pinball was the only correct spot in Charlotte to play pinball (and is still my preference), but this place is now up there as well. Walking down the stairs and seeing the old tvs playing 80s scenes and hearing and seeing all the games was definitely a portal into the past. There was parking at the building and overflow parking across the street, as Saturday evening was ramping up people were playing Tetris to park. The crowd felt more "Instagram" than "Basement dweller" but that might change as the newness of the place wears off. Plenty of .50 cent pinball. They actually had a pinball tournament going on. The grand champion scores on machines attest that the machines have been played by serious players. Bar served drinks and food, not too impressed with the draft beer selection or the size of the bar, but it was tolerable. Overall it was a good experience and I'm happy to see more pinball in Charlotte. Edit: Another thing I forgot to mention is that this place is open all the time, even on most holidays it seems, up until 2 am! It's nice to finally have a retrocade that is open on the "slower" days, when everywhere else is closed. I stayed until close on Sunday and I noticed the staff were taking the time to clean the pinball glass, which was a nice attention to detail. Staff have always been very friendly.

Not sure how it is in the evening or late night but early afternoon on a Saturday saw a decent crowd, families with kids even. Had plenty of space while I occupied one of the SF3 Cabinets...definitely glad to see this place reopened. Absolutely the best in class. Looking forward to an Initial D Cab and hopefully maybe even establish some Tournaments !!

Only on Saturdays & Sundays between 12:00PM - 5:00PM with a parent or guardian.
They have change machines also
We a permanently closed at our old location and plan to reopen at 1015 Seigle Ave. When we reopen we will have our standard all ages hours on Saturday and Sunday 12 to 5 PM. We may expand this, so please check back in with us once we reopen.
Hi, I was at your Abari Bar address and there is nothing in the building. Have you moved to a different address?
Lily, we are currently moving to a new location and won't be reopening at our location on North Davidson. We do not currently have an exact date for reopening but hope to be in operation at our new location by the Fall.
They did have one KoF station. But I'm pretty sure Abari is closed down due to Covid. Heard about the closure on the radio. The owner got on and was talking about it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the closure. As for the age thing, I'll leave that for someone who might actually know the policy due to the alcohol.
No food on site but there is a sandwich shop next door but they close at 8pm
No, they don't. But that can always change because the arcade is ever-changing! They keep it fun
Unfortunately we are only all ages on the weekends from 12 to 5. This event will be our normal 21+.
No it doesn't.
We do not. We have classics, modern day classics like blitz, initial d, marvel vs. Capcom, Killer Queen, and pinball all the way up to the latest game, Deadpool.
Check in on Tuesdays. Some of the pinball machines are on free play for selfie league practice.
There is a couch where you can play N64. All machines are freestanding but there are stools and drink holders available.
There was someone working the door when I went... Checking IDs and issueing/checking membership
We are a bar so of course we check IDs. You have to have an ID to have a membership which is required by NC law since we do not serve food. We do allow under 21 on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 PM to 5 PM. They must be with a parent or guardian to come in and under 21 will be marked.
Only Saturday and Sunday between noon and five pm can you get in under 21
21 and up only every day after 5 p.m. all ages Saturday Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. ..... Monday through Friday they open 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sundays 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.
