First thing is to take the courses available on-line. Once you pass the mandatory courses you'll then be qualified to take the state exam. Once you pass the state exam then are ready to get started with your new career as a real estate agent. The total costs to get started is $1000-$1500. Lastly make sure you interview with a company that will support you and your growth as a new agent. There's a lot to learn to sell a home and joining a company that supports your growth.
There are 3 things that allow your home to sell for the most money in the quickest amount of time. 1) Hire an active agent that has a good reputation of selling a lot of homes 2) Be sure to price your home competitively so your home stands out of other homes your competing with 3) Make sure the home is not cluttered and is clean and staged to show.
Some of the best communities in Bakersfield include great schools, restaurants and shopping. These communities would include Seven oaks, campus park and Southern oaks in the southwest. In the northwest, you'll find communities such as Riverlakes, Westdale estates and Brimhall estates. The investment market in Bakersfield is very affordable. There are plenty of options as an investor if your looking to invest in either multi-family units or single family homes.
Bakersfield offers some wonderful school districts. The highest rated school district is the Buena Vista school district with an award winning Reagan elementary school and Stockdale high school. Other schools such as Cesar Chavez elementary and Kato elementary offer magnet programs that include science and art.
Over the past 6 years, home value prices have increased by over 35% and in the last 2 years prices have risen by 8-10%.
Bakersfield is known for it's oil industry primarily. If you you work in the oil and energy sector the Kern County area provides plenty of employment opportunity. Bakersfield also has the main Target store distribution center, the main State Farms insurance hub and more. It's a growing city but still has that "small town" feel with a population of 450,000 people.
