This is a remote, moderately intense hike that's got lots of variety and lots of WATERFALL. No facilities. When we visited the viewing platform for the main waterfall was literally a shambles from being destroyed by weather, but it was under construction to be rebuilt (July 2022) Access roads from North and South are fine.

Do the loop, a little strenuous but well worth it. Long ride in from Warwoman is fun in a 4WD, but any car will do. Upper falls platform is failing but useable.

We hiked Holcomb Creek Falls with our dog. The total loop, including the road portion is less than 2 miles and very pleasant. There are three waterfalls on the trail. Holcomb Creek Falls is the biggest and is really impressive. Ammons Creek Falls is just a short ways further. The platform was damaged when we visited so hard to get a good view. From here, the trail heads steeply up along Holcomb Creek. Just before reaching the road, a path leads down to the creek at Upper Holcomb Falls. It's only about 20 feet but scenic and less well known than the bigger falls. Once back on the road, turn left and hike the road a short ways back to the trailhead.

Absolutely beautiful! The trail was in excellent condition, but just the nature of the mountain terrain necessitates good footwear. I agree with a previous review that a walking stick could be handy but it’s definitely not necessary. Just be careful because you could slip as the incline/decline has a pretty good degree of slope to it. The hike back up is the one that gets your heart rate up. So just know that you may need to be gentle on yourself and stop a few times to catch your breath. But if you have the chance to go, it is definitely a two thumbs up from this hillbilly from WV.

There are some sights up the road where the upper trail exits.
