I loved going to this place as a kid with my family. We also did quite a few outings with Boy Scouts. It was always really fun. I'm not too sure how it is today. But if it's anything like it used to be, it's a great place to go camping.

Visiting this campground is a longstanding family tradition. Location is beautiful, trails are great, grounds are well cared for considering the amount of human traffic, and the hosts are helpful. The Nantahala river and forest is a …

Beware of Site 30! This is a beautiful campground. Clean restrooms. And almost every site we saw was large and shaded. Unfortunately our site had no trees, just a large bush, that's it. The same was true for the "campsites" in the same row. My personal belief is that the space would be better suited as a playground area. We were hammock camping and didn't realize this when booking. Otherwise, it would have been a great place to visit. Great hiking trails surrounding the campground.

Yes. They have a fill station and fresh water on every loop.
No, it closes the last day of November
I have Verizon and had no service inside the campground
Yes Standing Indian has a bathhouse in each loop. Each bathhouse has 2 men's and 2 women's flushing toilets and sinks with cold water. The bathhouse also has 4 shower rooms with hot water and room to dress. The bathhouse are cleaned at least once each day.
It's a popular Campground so fcfs sites go quick. Checkout is at 2pm so that might be the right time to arrive.
Yes they are allowed... Must be on a leash at all times (or a runner thing you can stick in the ground) And no paperwork needed...
Yes
We only go during the summer. The information that I see on the website looks like it is open from April 1st to October 30th. I would give them a call to confirm.
Yes, and it's a beautiful place! Any closures of surrounding roads or trails are noted on the website.
Probably not impossible, but keep the water levels in mind.
I personally have not had a problem as long as you have everything on the pad area. You can call the store and talk to them also. They are great people.
$20 per night
The forest service had us clear out our camper. I think it is back open but always a good idea to call.
If you have the America the Beautiful Access Pass it is 1/2 price. $10 per night.
