We sought estimates from a few companies and Chris Hudson from Texas Best was very thorough and professional when assessing our needs and providing an estimate. It was more than a year later when we contacted them again to refresh the estimate and get started on our project. Chris managed the entire process from start to finish and kept us up to date very step of the way. We had a Board on Board fence installed as well as a PolyGal install on a portion of our Pergola. We ran into some issues with the city permit and Chris helped us manage the entire process, including revising the estimate based on city feedback, while maintaining the original schedule. There were several crews that came and went to complete the work and all were professional and courteous. The best was their stain guy that stained our Pergola. He did a super good job of covering everything and then coming back to finish touch ups a few days later. As with any project of this size, there were some issues along the way, but they were always addressed promptly and to our satisfaction. Highly recommend Texas Best Fence and Patio.

Colby, I want to take a moment to provide some feedback concerning the construction of my pergola. It was a very challenging project. Wasn’t sure it was even possible. Dustin was easy to work with. Knowledgeable, always professional, and most of all, very patient. Designing a pergola that would fit and look good in my space was a real puzzler. We went back and forth many times brainstorming solutions and designs. He never gave up on me, never expressed any frustration. He was always on top of things and very responsive, all hours of the day and night. Arturo(sp.) was said to be the best and I am a believer. The odd structure of the house and patio required some creative solutions. Arturo was up for the challenge. He included me in the decision making so I would be good with the finished product. The pergola could not be built completely symmetrical (due to house and patio structures), so we had to figure out ways to hide the unevenness best we could, which we did. No one will notice without looking very closely. Henry did an excellent job. He had his unique challenges as well. One of the beams sits right up against the brick window sills of my transom windows and so the backside of the beam is completely visible from inside the house and therefore, had to be stained. There is very little room to reach behind the beam but Kevin managed to protect the windows and contort himself to reach the required areas. In conclusion, all members of the team were first-rate, and I am very pleased with the final outcome. Kudos to all! Steven Herling Plano, TX

I was very happy with my experience working with Angela and Texas Best fence and patio. My fence and gate look amazing, and I’ll do business with them again when it’s time to replace a different section of fence.

Fences are fairly long-lasting, but factors including the type of wood it's made out of, weather conditions, how often it's treated, and whether or not it's painted or stained can all affect how well it ages. Over time, wood can become damaged or start to deteriorate and may need to be replaced. As a homeowner, you should regularly inspect your fences for signs of damage and general wear and tear.

When choosing the best wood to install your new fence with, Western Red Cedar seems to come out on top. Western Red Cedar only requires maintenance every 3-5 years and is going to last for at least 20 years.
