Relaxed, blue-collar bar. Parking (metered) was pretty easy to find around 5:40pm. The bartender is friendly and service was quick, but didn't make me feel rushed to order/drink/close out the tab. I ordered a gin & tonic (pretty much the only thing I drink), which should taste the same no matter where you go (depending on the gin, of course). It tasted like the tonic water was flat, thus it wasn't refreshing like a G&T should be. (My friend ordered a vodka-soda, and she said it also tasted like the soda water was flat.) This was my first time there, so I don't want to ding them for what could have been an off day with their mixers, considering the rest of my experience was pleasant.

Bartender left himself a bigger tip on my card than what I had written down. Scumbag move in my opinion. Don’t go here the opposite of an honest joint.

Very much my favorite bar in the city. No frills. Standard beers and drinks made here. Lots and lots of TVs! When local teams play, they'll use the big screen. It can get pretty full on game day, so be timely. Outside food is allowed, just be nice and clean up after yourself!

Nice chill local bar, very large, not too loud usually. I've seen folks grab pizza from the place nearby and just drink, chat and eat pizza.

Is the restaurant across the street still there? I forget the name- they would do a great cajun fest in the spring. And send apps across the street into Yancy’s whilst we waited for our table. Good memories...

No clue. But you can bring in any food you want to Yancy's. The restaurant across the street changed in 2016 to a breakfast place if that is what you mean. There is also a decent Greek takeout place. I reccomend both if you are in the area.
