Produce is an ever daily changing thing that cannot be precisely predicted. It is estimated daily. Depending on weather, workers in the field picking, drivers and truck/containers to bring it from the field to the processing plant/warehouse. Then to sorters, it gets washed/cleaned, packaged, chilled, and put into shipping boxes or containers. Palletizing if possible, prepared/ shrink wrapped or secured to a pallet...and inventoried/weighed at every step. Lots of stuff has to happen on time before it is ready to go on your truck. Any employees that fail to show up and do their part can slow the entire process. You the driver asking this question is just the next step of the process. Most if not all produce places operate this way. Your customers at your delivery are counting on your patience to obtain their products. Please be patient 🙏
