I had the incredible honor to have Doug and Tina help me with a very difficult situation at work which impacted my health tremendously. Doug is a kind and compassionate person who happens to also be an incredible attorney. He practices law as he practices life. I will always remember his kindness and great legal advisor. Fantastic human being!

Great Great Law Firm! Tina, their legal assistant, we love you! Tina, is on the ball and always responds and takes care of of you and all things related to your case, incredibly fast. Doug and Jon are Fantastic lawyers, too! They treat you like family and take very good care of you and answer all your legal concerns! They are also Very professional in representing your case and look at your case from every avenue. One thing we really appreciated was that they take the time to listen to what you have to say and then answer any questions/concerns, you may have. Great Law Firm and would definitely recommend to others!

I searched and talked to several law offices before stumbling upon Carter Law Offices. Lucky for me I did. They listened fully to my issue and helped me through what should have been a way more stressful situation. Tina and John were very kind and respectful. They talked me through every step of the way and helped explain the whole process of what to expect. They helped resolve my issue and reach a resolution I was very pleased with. I would highly recommend Carter Law Offices!!!

Mr. McCoy was a godsent! Easy to work with and he was great at explaining legal jargon and procedures in layman's terms. In fact, the entire office team was amazing, always making me feel apart of the process and consistently updating me on progress of the case. I'm pleased to announce Carter Law Offices were successful in negotiating a settlement for me. Huge shout out to Tina Carter, the best legal assistant in the game! When communicating with her, it felt like I was having an informal conversation with family, no pressure and was always willing to accommodate my schedule. You guys are the best and will never be forgotten. It's because of you I now have seed money to begin a non-profit organization of my own to service the underserved and minority populations.

Discrimination on the job can come in many forms, including verbal harassment, being assigned to the most difficult or unwanted duties, being passed over for promotions, being singled out for disciplinary action and even termination. If any of these actions are done on the basis of an employee’s gender, race, religion, age, disability or membership in another protected class, the actions may be illegal, and the employee may be able to pursue a discrimination claim.

Yes. Missouri is an at-will employment state, which means an employer can terminate employees at any time for any reason or for no reason at all. However, there are some exceptions. Employers cannot terminate an employee based on gender, race, religion, age, disability or membership in another protected class. Similarly, employers cannot fire an employee in retaliation for reporting discrimination or for filing workers’ compensation or engaging in a similar protected activity.
