Was very happy we decided to go here for happy hour. A great medley of food and drinks and it was very good. Shrimp, oysters and gumbo fries.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to eat the food at Jax. Our experience was horrible at the hostess table. First, the host informed us we didn’t have a reservation, we did, we booked on OpenTable. Even though we showed her the confirmation code it was NOT enough, she asked us to check our deleted folder in our email. Then I proceeded to say can we not have a table she said she would try, remember that we had a reservation. She blamed OpenTable and said it was their fault. Secondly, the 2nd hostess came over found our reservation and said that’s ‘Shawn’. Then the 1st hostess said it’s no big deal it’s a mix up. In reality, hostess one just missed our name on reservation, and she didn’t apologize. Actually it’s a big deal we drove 30 minutes and made a reservation. Lastly, they put a section full of kids, I could barely hear my spouse. I asked if we could move to a booth that was open, they said no it’s reserved. Guess they forgot that quickly we had a reservation. Needless to say the experience rubbed us the wrong way, the vibe was bad. Will continue to eat other places 👎🏽

Wife and I came down for dinner on date night and had Mya as a server. She was fantastic and the oysters and seafood were very fresh and had tons of flavor!! Cool laid back atmosphere and definitely recommend to any seafood lovers out there.

Plenty of space between tables for social distancing. Very clean including the restrooms. Staff wearing masks. They are doing there part, now you just need to do yours. Wear your mask and wash your hands. Stay home if you feel sick.
Sure is!
Hey there J.L. I'm sorry you feel this way about the pricing on the menu but we are really proud of the quality of our steaks as well as our seafood! I hope you will come and give the 16oz New York Strip a taste before you render judgement!? :) It is a full pound of Prime, Paradise Meat Locker sourced beef that we cut by hand and we think, it is worth every penny... Thanks for your comment and we appreciate your feedback! Cheers, Adam @ Jax
How much can u eat? I'm sure they can accommodate you.
Excellent brunch!
Yep. Parking access actually appears to be below the Fontaine hotel. The ramps are accessable from Belleview or Roanoke. Both are on the south side block...just north of ward parkway. The restaurant will validate for this lot, lunch, brunch or dinner!
There are tons of delicious items on the current brunch menu. Lobster or Crab Cake Eggs Benedict is a great place to start. You can see the menu here. https://www.jaxfishhouse.com/kansas-city/menus/brunch/
Anytime but the happy hour prices are obviously better. Best oysters in town btw!
You will be comfortable here dressed either casual or dressy.
Worth the money if; you can really put the crab away, you get there early, you sit at the bar if possible, you ignore the groups of piggy crab eaters, and you get yours quickly.
It may be different because it's New Year's Eve but the normal Sunday brunch amount is about $48, reservations are not required but again because it's New Year's Eve you may want to make one
