This hike is probably more interesting when the leaves are off the trees. I started to hike this in early May but it wasn’t very interesting and the trail gets very narrow and weedy in some spots. I felt like I was having to watch my feet more than my surroundings due to all the roots and rocks. I admit, I am a casual hiker who just wants to get outdoors and enjoy pretty scenery and a less hazardous hike.

The trail is well marked with blue spots and it was easy to follow. The trail winds for miles along the river and is pretty peaceful for being minutes from the highway. The trail has minimal elevation gains but is far more rugged than a paved path. Near the parking lot is a lookout area with a great, elevated view.

I dont think it goes any higher if you start at the Turkey creek end. It's all down hill to the lake.
