You can walk into REI and ask the sales people there.. they may even have a guided kayak tour For maps, try Google search Urban Kayak does kayak rental in Chicago and I found their service quite good

Yes. But return line is same as checkout line, and thus can take quite a while to get inside and then through to a checker. And they say this is subject to change depending on their staffing, etc.
I believe you would have to do a warranty claim through Darn Tough.
U might want to call the store. My guess is that you'd need to contact the manufacturer. Google should be able to point u in the right direction.
I'm not sure either way, but I was impressed by their selection of bicycle stuff and their bike mechanic, who is friendly and helpful.
