I have stayed at the Bernerhof Inn 3 times now. My last 2 stays were years ago under different ownership. This last stay was much different and it was obvious that it is under different ownership. I never once received an email confirming our stay. The only reason I knew we had a room was because my credit card sent a text message letting me know that the bernerhof had charged my card. My husband and I stayed in the same room we did 7 years ago for our honeymoon, we were excited to go back and enjoy the nostalgia. We were greeted shortly after we arrived by a staff welcoming us but, ensuring we were aware that they were short staffed and how they appreciated all the understanding. My best memory were late nights in the Whirlpool tub having drinks, listening to music and having great conversation in our tub. However, to our dismay the whirlpool tub was not working. The staff were made aware and looked at the tub. They stated the button was broken and would need a new piece. We were offered to take a whirlpool bath in the room next door. We were not comfortable with that option and opted not to. Although I appreciate the offer of using the tub in another room, I also feel that this should be something that is checked in between each stay and should be in working order. Especially considering the bill for a 2 night stay was $720.94 and it is an emphasized amenity on the website. Next year on our annual trip up north we will need to look at alternative lodging options, unfortunately

Terrific rooms, every one appears to be different. The owner and staff are really nice and attentive. The two resident dogs, whose names I have shamefully forgotten, are lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

Second time staying here and once again it was amazing! We stayed here for my fiancés birthday and while we were out for the day, a staff member left a happy birthday balloon and cookie cake right outside our door 🥰 how thoughtful! Also, The in-room hot tub was so nice and the breakfast was delicious. Will keep coming back here for sure!!

Very nice staff, although understaffed. The dogs should not be allowed as greater’s. They growled at my wife and daughter. Overall a nice place. I would put it on the 3rd choice of your list of places to stay. Unorganized. Overwhelmed. However they did meet our needs, which were not anything more than the normal customer. They provided most of the things stated. Ice machine didn’t work. They did provide me an ice bucket. Tools on the kitchenette counter on the second floor. My guess is they are struggling as many small establishments are due to COVID. I wouldn’t say no to this B&B, however I wouldn’t expect all that they advertise. The room was clean, the atmosphere was nice. The food was good, not great, but you wouldn’t starve. The hostess that greeted us was nice and did her best to accommodate. My guess is Nick needs to polish his skills as an InnKeeper. I wish them much luck. As a small business owner I feel the growing pains. I would stay again but only as a 3rd option.
