Amazingly beautiful and so close to Salt Lake. Climbing above the falls can get dangerous depending on how far you go. Know your skill That said, it is a great spot for rappelling next to the waterfalls. It is part of the watershed so you should avoid rappelling directly down the falls themselves.

Great short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Even in August the falls were running, although lighter than in the spring. Good hike for toddlers, though there are a lot of rocks and roots in the trail. It's a good place for them to practice with a great rest/lunch spot at the end. I would say watch out for flash flood warnings if it's raining though, I could see it being a major flood area. Other than that it's a favorite of ours on repeat

No, these are watershed areas and dogs are not allowed in either Little or Big Cottonwood canyons.
