Nice campsite close to a creek and the pond, but watch out for leeches in the pond. Great view day and night, close to Keene Valley

A short and decent hike to the sites. Sites were well maintained, even had an outhouse! Serene pond surrounded by mountains, very quiet. A very relaxing and rewarding enviroment; however the pond is not for swimming! Beware of the leeches, found that out the hard way :(

I've camped here several times over the years. Each time it was during a weekday (I worked odd hours and a lot of weekends back in the 90s) and I loved the tranquility, usually having the place to myself. The two accompanying pictures are from August 1994 while backpacking with a close friend.
