We came to Barnstormer Winery on 7/30 for a tasting. The space is small and unassuming from the outside, lovely inside, with a tasting area set up with comfy chairs around a cozy wood stove fireplace. There was also some outdoor seating space set up, but we sat inside. Our tasting guide (didn't catch his name), in addition to being incredibly knowledgeable about wines and the region in general, also teaches at Ithaca College. The wines were delicious and we loved that our guide really took the time to explain each wine to us, how it was made, and where it came from. He clearly is passionate about wine and made us excited about each one as he poured it with his excellent and exuberant descriptions. He also chatted a bit with us about the region and encouraged guests to chat with each other, making the experience even more inviting and interesting. He gave us a great dinner recommendation, which we took, and enjoyed very much. There were two other women assisting with the tastings who were equally attentive and accommodating. We got into a lengthy conversation with another couple tasting at the same time as us and lost track of time enjoying our wines and chatting, eventually running over closing time, and the staff simply continued on, cleaning and closing up without saying anything to us or even giving us a look for overstaying our welcome (apologies to the staff!). We did the dry flight (flight #1) and liked all of the wines. It was unusual to see a sangiovese in this area - the rose they made from this grape was quite tasty. The sip of port provided at the end of the tasting was also surprisingly delicious (we're not usually fans of dessert wines). This winery is a must-visit when in the area for sure!

My boyfriend and I visited this past weekend And we cannot say enough great things about this place! This was a stellar experience and it set the bar TOO HIGH for the rest of our winery visits the rest of the day. Hannah the tasting room manager is PERFECT, she is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about their own wines as well as other area wines and could make great recommendations as to what else we would love in the area. Being in the wine industry it’s very easy to nit-pick and we were absolutely blown out of the water by Barnstormers. The wine was impeccable and it’s clear that head winemaker Marc Peterson is deeply passionate about making fine wine. He too is very friendly and kind as we were able to have a few words with him. They have a beautiful environment and we can’t wait to go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Barnstormer today. Hannah was bubbly, informative and fun. Highly recommend the Bubbly Dry Riesling and 2020 Red Blend.

Wow, just wow! This very unassuming winery delivers on all fronts! Great wines (our favorites were the dry rose, bubbly Riesling and departure red blend), great music (Mumford, Lumineers, etc.), friendly staff that was very knowledgeable …

ALL (almost) Finger Lakes wineries are pet-friendly. We've been visiting FL wineries for more than 20 years, and have never seen a disapproving sign. Enjoy!

No, sorry. All of our wines are made from grapes grown from some of the best vineyards and growers around Seneca Lake. Thank you for your question.
