My first experience with outpatient was good. Very friendly nurses and doctor so as the front desk. With all the sicknesses what my little has the ENT doctor was very kind and check to make sure everything looks good. I would recommend dr Doughlas R Johnston

Check billing prices before you go. In network billing from Lurie's @ Silver Cross is insane. An orthopedic consult was $757 and a standard XR lower back was $803. Beware.

Allergist was rude and condescending to my wife and I. It took 2 weeks to get blood work results for my daughter after telling us we'd have it within 48 hours. Also, once we recieved the results the hospital told us the allergist would call within a few days to explain it. After about a week they tossed the buck to our primary care physician without telling us to set up a follow-up meeting with him. Total lack of communication, and expect to call 5 or 6 times before getting information for your children.

You can always drop them off at any satellite facility (New Lenox, Westchester, Northbrook, etc.) and they can then be transferred to the main hospital for distribution.

For parents who don't have health insurance are immunizations free?

Immunizations are given at the child's pediatrician's office. The county health department has immunizations for free or discounted rates based on certain criteria.
