First. Im a local and have lived in this areas basically my entire life. Anyone that has left a 5 star review did so before October 2020 or is from out of town and doesn't know any better! That said... Brevard County, with the help of the Army Corp of Engineers (the absolute destructors) started a sand pumping project to save millionaires homes and condo developments, that should have never been allowed to be built in the first place. In the process they created an ecological disaster along the coast of Brevard County. They pumped in offshore sand that is grey, black, lifeless and smells like raw sewage on a hot day! Its lifeless... the sand killed all of the crabs and animals that relied on the reef that was just offshore and is now covered forever. All of the birds are gone. The fish disappear overnight. Turtles can't nest in it because its like a concrete barrier that they can't climb or dig in. If youre planning a trip to Florida for the beaches I would go to the west coast where beaches are still natural sand, and natural habits. There is no telling what is in this ancient sand they pumped from the bottom of the ocean... One thing is for sure, there is a cancer cluster study taking place on the Brevard County beach communities they are trying to convince you to visit. Hmmmmmm
