RCEA is being paid for doing nothing. ALL outages and repair emergencies are handled by PG&E. Where do you even generate power? Are you using the old PG&E plant Rex Bohn got reactivated, which is all that kept our power on last fire season? What, other than add to the size of our bills do you actually do?

Middle man outfit. Seems to cost more than PG&E.

RCEA summer rates are exorbitantly high for the electric vehicle plan. So far, RCEA cannot explain the difference. Further, they do not list summer months vs winter months.

My bill is cheaper, and they have "green" options too.

You aren't paying both. RCEA provides electricity through PG&E transmission lines. This was all explained in the the letter that RCEA sent to all energy customers in Humboldt. That letter also gave instructions for how to opt out, which is what I did. If you chose to ignore the letter, that's your own fault. Stop crying and waving the victim flag and take responsibility for your own actions.
The one at the Public Parking lot (not the one at the fairgrounds) is a Greenlots charger. In their app it shows that "Customer decided not to renew". If you want it back online, you should contact the City of Ferndale directly to inquire about renewing the contract as well.
May 1 - October 31 is considered Summer for rates. PG&E (likely with CPUC approval) set the months, not RCEA. The rate RCEA charges for production is lower (lower, but with an additional (allowed by the CPUC, again) PG&E fee that makes them almost identical) than what PG&E charges for production. The purpose behind the high EV peak hours rates is to force you, by means of your pocketbook, to shift most of your usage (and all of your EV charging) to off-peak hours. The off-peak rates are very low. The benefit is that you are not in a tiered system anymore, so no worry about rate increases for going over baseline usage (which would easily happen with an EV, even with minimal driving) I dont work for RCEA, but i do know every penny charged and why, as well as my KWH usage and production at my home. I have been on the EV rate for almost 2 years, and i just passed my first solar true-up from PG&E in October.
