If I could give a negative star, I would do it! I am a cancer patient with heart problems as well…and, as a result, have had need to interact with the Providence health care providers on many occasions during the last two years. My heath has been repeatedly compromised as a result of severe communication problems, misinformation, a “care-less attitude” by staff etc. I am unable to reach people by phone and, if people answer the phone, I am on on hold for up to an hour. I am then told that someone will call me back but no one ever does. God help patients who must rely on this system!

My father was taken by ambulance to St Joes. A Dr.Chee determined he would be staying until Monday or Tuesday to ensure he was close to baseline. Later a nurse case manager called to relay the same message as Dr. Chee. Needless to say shifts change and a Dr. Crabtree called to say he was ready for release. She stated he is doing so well. She further stated she reviewed his chart from 2019 and it all looks good. When asked why she didn’t review his latest stay in Jan 2022 she said she didn’t see those records. We can only presume she didn’t see them or they were actually missing. When asked about his leaking heart? She said well he has heart problems. When asked if he was back to baseline ie walking and able to do personal care her response was Yes! He walks 50ft! She definitely was untruthful on this one! Or perhaps the fact she only graduated in 2018 has much to do with her inability to provide sufficient care or even determine if a patient can do personal care. She definitely seemed lacking in clarity and maturity with her responses not to mention actually being truthful. The nurse who brought him out to the car couldn’t help him even get out of the wheelchair as he could not do it himself and she was of little help. This is not his baseline. He can’t walk which is his baseline so Dr. Crabtree must have been imagining his miraculous recovery or simply she just didn’t care but wanted him out of the hospital. She failed to consult with his cardiologist and his primary care physician. She failed to consult with county health. Dad came home as weak as a baby. He reported only receiving 1 meal his entire 3 day stay. Worse the day he was discharged he was given nothing to eat!! He didn’t even get to our car until 330pm!! He is a diabetic. My dad doesn’t speak much but he did say LAZY every clearly of his care or no care as the case maybe. He also reported his nurses couldn’t help him and that his broken rib was hurt even more. Worse they failed to give him any pain meds. I will be reporting Dr. Crabtree to the state seeking a review of her inadequate care. We cannot have doctors like her harming patients simply because she lacked the energy to be diligent on her patient care. In closing I hope when they become elderly they learn the value of being treated with dignity and care.

My husband was admitted for head injury with inter cranial bleeding. While in the Emergency Room he fell from his gurney despite being labeled a Fall Risk which requires “Eyes On “ observation. In the ICU he was given Ativan by a RN despite Neurology and the Hospitalist recommending NO sedation due to his head injury and progressive inter cranial bleed. My husband died 6 days after being admitted to Providence St Joseph Hospital of Acute Respiratory Failure associated with aspiration pneumonia secondary to the administration of Ativan. What is note worthy is that I was never informed of theses errors until I read my husband’s Medical Record after his death and I am a Nurse Practitioner of 20+ years

Every time I’ve been to St Joseph I’ve always had good services. The nurses and the doctors have been very professional and respectful.

Yes
I believe if you need longer stay, They can accommodate. I have never stayed any length of time. Well seemed like forever a couple of times.
You can if you're having any symptoms, but depending on how busy they are expect upwards to a 6 hour wait for results. They don't offer rapid testing
On discharge from the hospital any Doctor can refer to hospice. Hospice will then come out and evaluate if the person qualifies for hospice care.
Probably not.
Too many factors to give a time .
I was only at the ER but I believe it's open 24 hrs.
