TLDR: Rude, incompetent, and uncooperative front desk staff. If it were possible to give this place negative stars I would. I have been a customer of America's Best since 2008 and have NEVER had a problem. I recently moved from St. Louis to San Jose and needed to get new contacts and Rx. Prior to my arrival, I was sent a text asking me to fill out an online document regarding health, insurance, etc... I arrive at the store, at my appointment time and the front desk staff told me I needed to fill out this form. The same form I already filled out online. When I mentioned to the individual that I filled this form out I was told "No you haven't or I would have it right here." So then I thought maybe I was wrong so I filled the form out in-store. I then showed the confirmation message I received from the online form and the front desk staff said "well I don't have it." I believe he did but didn't check. Now, for the most frustrating part. I went to Warby Parker to get some new glasses and called Americas best to get my new Rx. They responded that my Rx was out of date and that I would need to come in for an eye exam. I informed them that I was just at America's best and had an eye exam and then the front desk said they found it but wasn't in my file for some reason. Then they would not send me my Rx via email, only through FAX or I would have to drive up there to get it myself. HOW is it possible that they cannot email an Rx in the 21st century?! Who even has a fax machine anymore? Then they said I didnt have my medical release form... I've been a member of the eye care club since 2008, I know for a fact they have it on file somewhere. However, the front desk gave me my Rx prescription to myself and the Warby Parker store associate over the phone. If the issue is that I don't have a medical release on file how can they give that information over the phone? I then leave Warby Parker, purchased the glasses and all Warby Parker needs is for Americas best to fax the prescription to them. AGAIN, America's best will not fax the prescription. I have given explicit consent, time and time again and they still will not send this over. Finally, I have no other option but to call America's Best customer service line as this America's Best cannot help me. I spoke to a customer care rep for 30 mins, they called the store and again the store refuses to cooperate. In total, I have spent 2-3 hours of my time trying to get my Rx sent to a glasses store. It is illegal in the state of California to withhold someone's Rx when they have given explicit consent to share the Rx. I believe they don't want me going elsewhere for glasses. Either that or the front desk is either incompetent, lazy, or both. This has NOT been my experience with America's best since 2008. It has ALWAYS been a great experience, however, avoid this location like the plague. Rude, uncooperative, and incompetent. It's a shame because the optometrist at this location was fantastic.

If I could give negative stars for this place, I would. Store manager was impolite and gave my appointment slot to someone else even though I showed up on time and asked me to wait and finally ended up wasting my time. Had to reschedule the appointment. Not at all recommended! Very disappointing.

I needed glasses and contacts asap and Lauren definitely helped me out with that, plus my glasses are super stylish!

Yes, but always call a new place and have them double check.

You don't need a membership, although they offer their own insurance plan, you can use your own insurance, just call them to ask if your insurance plan will be covered. Or you can pay out of pocket. Just remember that those offers are basic and prices will go considerably up depending on add ons when you pick up your glasses.
