To the people that left the pile of chicken bones by the rock wall at Walden Pond today, you are not very considerate. Or possibly just don't care. You probably will never read this. But I wanted to let you know everyone around watched a group of 5 geese begin to try and eat them... I am an animal lover. So I intervened, wrapped up, & tossed your trash for you. That could have possibly killed or hurt these geese. They were very mad with me, to say the least. They all tried nipping and attacking me for stealing their well earned feast! 😤 We had a great time otherwise! We love Walden Pond on weekdays. Especially during after hours (6-730pm.) Free parking after 6pm on weekdays in the on season. 8$ day parking for MA residents. Lots of parking too! Though it fills up fast on the weekend. Walk down or around the pond a bit for your own private stretch of beach. Though this place is always pretty crowded, it's a great spot for swimming, sunbathing and hiking. Especially for open swimming. There is a lot of that there. I brought my 25 month old. The water was so warm and the perfect temp for younger kids to stay there all day (July 29 2022.) Wicked rad spot!

Beautiful historic landmark, peaceful this time of year, especially quiet mid-week. I imagine it being very congested on weekends and warmer months however

Beautiful spot with very accessible, family friendly beach and swimming. Non- motorized boat access. Popular spot for paddle boards.

No camping at Walden.
It's 1.7 miles around, but there's a short cut at the cabin location.
The out gate for the parking lot locks at 8 pm for the summer. Once September comes, they start locking it earlier.
I dont believe you can camp at Walden Pond. Gates close at dusk, give or take, nightly.
Yes
Usually if the lot is closed they're limiting walk-ins or bike-ins, too. Plus, parking is really tough unless you get a spot or are willing to walk from downtown concord (the other nearby lots explicitly stated no parking for walden visitors). It's always worth checking the walden pond Twitter feed before leaving your house.
Rent one from a friend and bring it there!
You pay for parking - https://www.mass.gov/locations/walden-pond-state-reservation#parking has the details
No need for a reservation. It does help if you check their Twitter feed to see whether they have reached capacity and have closed to any more visitors for a while, though. They'll tweet to say when they've closed to more visitors and when they're allowing more people in again. They're @waldenpondstste on Twitter.
As of July 2020 yes
Yes, I like it with warm sun.
There are no tables near the water, but there is plenty of open space.
Next to the pond on RT 126. It varies, but 7am-7pm in summer.
Swimming is allowed year round at your own risk. Many open water swimmers come here. It's chilly but not cold. Most have on wet suits at this point.
Boston Miniteman Campground (private) in Littleton. Largely RV with hookups. Wooded. Newbies with large rigs may find it difficult . Strict enforcement of quiet hours etc. (which I love)
Not very steep after the initial ramp down from the road. Aside from that, there are a few hilly trails here too but not really near the water. Happy Trails.
Hi Tito, you can, indeed kayak at Walden. Life jackets are required. You'll have to park at the boat ramp area, a few hundred feet past the official park HQ.
Yes
Dogs are not allowed at the Pond at all. They are allowed in the neighboring woods.
No
