The camp hosts are awesome. Tons of Eagles both bald & golden plus osprey too.

Campsite was good the host we met on the first night was nice, the lake and views were gorgeous. The stars at night were amazing. And there was a lot of critters to see at night too including coming across some deer! The only downside were the restrooms in my opinion. Basically glorified porta potties. There was one that that seemed to be less frequented than others and did not smell, but the one closest to the lake smelled pretty bad. You just need to know where to go.

Stopped here from the Lassen BDT and had a great time with friends. Beautiful lake and campsites were fantastic!

Love this place, wish I lived there.

Yes
Depends on your family. There are no hookups, no showers, and only vault toilets. But it is well kept and families tend to have a great time. If anything is wrong, stop Jerry when he passes in his cart and talk to him about it. He loves helping people, he's easily the best campground host I've ever met.
Definitely saw a couple of boats out there, so a canoe with a trolling motor should be fine
Going to the campground, around Chester, yes. But the actual campground itself, no. I checked this last month to make sure and it looks untouched
