This was my first time at the Glass Onion and we won't be back. The atmosphere lacks any kind of warmth and the host was not at all engaging. I will say that the food was good but not worth the 45-50$ a meal. Also they sat us in the parking lot out back. Seems strange a fine dinning restaurant would do such a thing. Service and experience are clearly not a top priority. There are too many good restaurants in the area to consider going back.

Intimate ambiance with excellent service. We went over the weekend with my wife and daughter, so we all tasted everything that was ordered. We all ordered differnt wines from their extensive list. I had the butternut squash soup, which was the best I ever had. My wife and daughter had the brased pork bellly, which was also good. For entrees my wife had the seafood rissoto which was very tasty. I had the pecan crusted swordfish, which wasn't the freshest and a bit salty for my taste. And my daughter had the filet mignon which she enjoyed, but again was a bit salty for me. For desert we shared the chocolate mousse and a variety of sorbets, which were the perfect endings. The menu was not marked with GF for Gluten Free and I thought that I was versed in ordering, but I am sure that I ingested a lot of wheat that evening. Lastly the difference between a good restaurant and a GREAT restaurant is offering Gluten Free Bread. How difficult is it to go to Stop & Shop and buy frozen "Udi's" hamburger buns and "Against the Grain" dinner rolls? Microwave as needed. According to our server, a lot of people request GF, but evidently management is too busy to listen? The Glass onion lost a star for serving not-the-freshest swordfish and salty entrees and they lost another star for not being Gluten friendly (menu, bread).

WOW!! The lobster strudel alone was magnificent. The maitre'd, server, bussers and food created an incredible experience.

I had not been to the Glass Onion in 10 years and my wife and I thought we would give it a try again. From the moment you walk in it seems to be missing a vibe that I would think most people want these days. I am not sure if the lack of background music but the dining room feels void of a personality. It seems like a restaurant from back in the 80's that just never changed. As far as the experience is concerned it was not very good. We waited over 1/2 hr for appetizers and thought they would provide us a glass of wine or bread (you have to pay for bread after the first portion). We asked as it was not offered, and the waitress looked like we asked her for a free meal but she agreed to provide us with "free bread". It never showed up and by the time she came back we gave up on the free bread. I had a steak which was tasty but delivered lukewarm. By the time it came back at the proper temperature everyone else was done eating. I was educated as to why this steak should be served lukewarm. I don't think so. It was tasty when served at the proper tempature. The scallop dish was also tasty but it was an extremely small portion for $40 with 4 scallops. While the food is not bad, it's not great and worth the prices they charge. Given our experience and the fact no one offered us a drink, bread or a dessert shows they really don't care about the dining experience. We will never go back as there are so many other better choices in town.
