Normally our Bob Evans is good. Tonight was a completely different experience. I had ordered the 2 piece fried chicken breast meal. When the food was brought to the table, it all looked good with the exception of my meal. The fried chicken was absolutely unrecognizable as fried chicken. There were two tiny pieces of something that looked like burnt/blackened bat wings. There was no breading on them. I picked one piece up and it felt like leather.... I asked our server if she was sure that was the norm for the friend chicken. I had her take it back and got pot roast instead. I spoke with the manager when we were leaving and he said he would take it off our bill. Surprised me....he took half off our total bill for dinner for all three of us. It was bad, but our server was so polite and did all she could to make it right. Then the manager truly made it more than right by taking half off our bill.

Visited Bob Evans for the first time in a while and it was a good change of pace. BUT they had a couple of new bowls or skillets...i got one of the new protein bowls this time. I love the sunshine skillet. I add an egg over easy on top! Yummy!

Our breakfasts were splendid! I was very pleased to find that they had turkey sausage links (which were really good). Loved the home fries too. Coffee was piping hot like we like it. The banana nut bread was perfect, not overly sweet. The reason that I did not give 5 stars was because I observed some of the staff doing some unsanitary things which were concerning to me as they’re in the food service industry. There were two boys working the front area. One of them was sniffling and touching his nostrils while handling to-go orders. The other was digging in his ear. GROSS! I was glad I did not observe them handling the dine-in orders, or else I would have just taken my family and walked right out! Also, a server (petite blonde with glasses and a seemingly bad or unfriendly attitude) was holding tongs in one hand and used them to get a biscuit out of the warmer, but then started using her bare hand to put several biscuits on a plate. No gloves. I thought that was nasty! Why even pick the tongs up if you’re not going to use them? I didn’t appreciate that she sacrificed cleanliness to save herself a few seconds. People don’t know where her hands have been. I made sure not to order any biscuits. I also made sure I was seated on the opposite side of the restaurant so that she would not be my server.

Service was good. Food was good. Snow was on the ground and they salted the walkway, which is much appreciated. Overall restaurant cleanliness was good. Of course I was there at 9am but this location is generally on the cleaner side. Definitely stop in if you are looking for a decent breakfast.

Agreed
Same as all the other restaurants. Half the tables are closed so there is at least 6 feet apart. Staff wears masks. You have to wear your mask until you sit at your table.
