Separate big and small dog parks with some seating and shade. There is an entrance to a Greenway here as well as restrooms. The Greenway is great for a walk with your dog

Yes, but make sure the weather has been dry for a week or two before you go. The place is a big muddy mess after a rain. I didn't look closely at the small dog side, but the big dog side had a temporary fence around an especially muddy patch. The rest of the play yard was pretty gooey.
Big dogs are not "allowed" in the small dog area. However, some inconsiderate people don't adhere to rules and regulations. The large dogs do tear up the turf in their area and create more muddy areas then the small dogs. This inconsiderate dog owner did not want her dog to get muddy, so she took him to the small dog area.
There is a playgroubd for children. It is in excellent shape. Hard part is watching children and watching the dog at the same time.
There is a small one at the park in Kannapolis off orphanage rd. There is also one attached to Rowan Animal Clinic but it is open to the public
