I scheduled an appointment for after hours carpet cleaning at my commercial building. The techs arrived in the middle of the work day so I called the office and eventually would up with Preston who informed me that their scheduling department had made a mistake and he would allow his techs to come back after 5:00 PM for an additional $450.00 charge. I asked Preston if he was telling me that he would not honor my original quote even the error was his company's fault to which he replied "Yes it is". I then asked Preston if I needed to go ahead and call another company and he told me that's what I was going to need to do. I immediately called Servicemaster and was treated with professionalism above and beyond what I would have expected and they were able to actually rearrange their schedule and send their techs that same evening since I had already made plans to stay late that night for the other company. Stanley Steemer clearly does not value or need anyone's business so save yourself some time and frustration, just call Servicemaster from the start!!! I would like to add the Stanley Steemer techs that arrived to perform the work were very professional and apologetic but they were, of course, not able to help in any way as they were at the mercy of Preston who just needs to be encouraged to find another job because scheduling and customer service are clearly not his strong suit.
