Lots of interesting museum pices ranging from prehistoric to modern times. As well as a good bit of background on each one. Was a rwally interesting experience.

Placed close to river Savannah, all installation worth to be viewed. Positive shock was the engine inside. Is so big couldn't fit in to my camera w/o any deformation.

The Augusta Museum of History basically has it all. Whether you're looking for the world's most comprehensive James Brown exhibit, a fascinating journey through the history of golf, some jaw-dropping car and train history, and/or an extensive collection of artifacts that tell a more complete story of the State of Georgia, you have to come here and see it for yourself. Even if you don't think you're a "big museum person", you'll find plenty of cool stuff for everyone to enjoy.

This is a hidden gem and an excellent history museum, conveniently located on Reynolds Street in Augusta GA. We visited this museum a few weeks ago, because we were very interested in seeing the huge collection of James Brown. The museum has 2 floors and is handicapped accessible. The facility was very clean and maintained to the highest standard of cleanness. This museum also has many other exhibits highlighting the GA railroad, GA sports athletes, politicians, and many more other exhibits. There is a huge parking lot on site and there is also Street parking as well nearby. I'd highly recommend this place to coworkers, friends, and family members who enjoy history museums. I'm sure that we will return for another visit at some point in the next year!!!
