The Tenement Museum is a must-do for you and your family! Learning about this immigrant history of NYC will add so to your visit to the city. There is no A/C in the Tenements, so just be aware. They have fans to keep you comfortable during the summer months.

I really enjoyed Irish Outsiders because you get to go up into rooms. I also enjoyed Shop Life - there is a great interactive tech portion. Building Of The Lower East Side is also good but it's a walking tour and you don't go into any buildings. That being said, every single tour is FANTASTIC. You can't go wrong!!!
As far as I know, there are no free tour times. The senior price is 20, 5 off the 25 price
Yes, you buy a ticket for one of the guided tours, either online or in their on-site shop. It's not a regular museum, you access it only through guided tours.
I’m not sure why - but when I was there a few weeks ago it was MASK
You might want to call them and ask directly.
If you go to www.tenement.org you can select a date/time and choose which tours you'd like to go on. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any combined tours. I highly suggest the "Under One Roof" tour if you're only going to do one tour as it was truly a walk back in time.
There are morning tours, but it depends on which one you want. Looking right now, it looks like Irish Outsiders, Shop Life and Under One Roof have tours starting at 10:15AM tomorrow, and the others are sold out
No, no free days/times. But if you are interested in New York history the museum is well worth the price of admission, and there are multiple tours to choose from, each of which offers a different story. I loved it!
Easier to ask the museum directly.
The tour I went on had stairs and tight spaces, but there are different tours. I couldn't speak to the accessibility of the other tours.
No, they tend to do the tours dependant on the weather, as some are walking tours. Best to check on the day you wish to visit
Yes walking tours. Stopping at various buildings and giving some history and answering any questions
It depends on where are you coming from but J Z F M B D all stop close to the museum.
Pickup tickets at museum
Golden Eagle Pass? No, I do not think so or my wife would have used hers. Very interesting and worth the regular fee.
Sorry, I am unable to accurately answer that. Call the museum. Good luck!
Yes you can. If you purchased them online within 10 days you can on their website and within 30 days if purchased in person you can go there and return them. Hope this helped.
Yes the tours are pretty small so advance purchase is recommended. Theres not a ton of room inside so tours are about a dozen or so people.
As the tours open you can book a tour. You have to pick a tour to buy a ticket
I only took one tour so can't compare to others. Mine was in the house next door to the giftshop: 3 apartments: Jewish , Italian and Asian spanning a century. I also watched the movie which is on show behind the gift shop. Rounded up the visit really well. Great books and puzzles at the giftshop. The kids will appreciate
Tours will run between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the selected tour. Walking tours, throughout the neighborhood, tend to be longer than the tenement tours.
It's quicker and more convenient if you've booked online. I tended to look up the times of the different tours available a few days prior to my visit anyway and it's good to see how many places are available/left. I went during the winter months and both pre-booked AND also rocked up, mid week. Neither was a problem. NO babies allowed. NOT even a 6 week old sleeping in a baby sling.
Most interesting museum chronicling the plight of NYC immigrants. There are several tours going on simultaneously. Go online or call museum directly. I would suggest online reservations as tours fill up quickly.
According to what I learned on the tour, that is just an old term for a multi-family dwelling. It became associated with worn out, not-so-nice buildings so it stopped being used to describe apartments.
You may want to contact them directly because they offer multiple kinds of tours, not necessarily all combined
The only way to get into the museum is by purchasing a tour. Tours are given on Sunday. (The Musuem proper is in an old building, not up to modern fire code with respect to number exits, width of hallways, etc, so they need to carefully control the number of people inside.)
