The person I met in the office was very rude! Didn’t even offer to give a tour! I have joined other gyms in different stated and never experienced such unfriendly and unwelcome first impression!

They need to update their equipment for the general public. They haven't gotten any new machines to use for the main floor in years.

I've been a member here for a few years. The gym is decent. There really aren't any other options in the area. The biggest problem with this gym is cleanliness. When you go to a gym you want a place that is clean. I never see staff members cleaning here. If you go to planet fitness they are usually spotless. At In Shape, they are usually out of soap, there's no wipes to wipe the machines, hand sanitizers are empty. Worst of all, the mens locker room is completely disgusting. For some reason they decided to cover the floors in carpet. With all the moisture from the showers the carpet is always wet. There's got to be a ton of mold underneath. It always smells terrible. They definitely need to renovate the locker rooms. Machines, weights and workout equipment are basic, they should look into upgraded some of those. There just aren't a lot of options. I would recommend planet fitness for less than a third of the price, this gym just doesn't offer much.

Best gym on the Shoreline, some of the weights are showing some age as of late. Needs a little updating, but all in all is really nice. Staff is friendly and gym goers are cool.

Good question.. I'm sorry but i can't answer your question.. i would suggest calling them . They probably have a handful of solutions.. you may want to bring another family in to save money.. they are very nice . And the people you will meet all seem to smile.. good luck..😀😎
Yes it sure did have a basketball court, it was only used for a very short period of time and it was a waste of space. management had made a beautiful one and people rarely used it but in the area they are using now where the basketball court used to be is used all day long by plenty of people In Shape is w/o , without a doubt one of the best gyms from here to California and believe me I’ve been to many .... I truly would say it is comparable to Gold’s gym in Southern California the one closest to the old Venice facility .... Ive had some friends visit from the West Coast that have done nothing but bodybuilding and act their entire careers and they loved InShape !!!! Even they felt it comparable to golds gym Venice , relax all you hard-core super amateurs or former pros I’m not talking about the old golds gym in the atmosphere but this is the greatest facility in Connecticut , equipment, price , hours and also atmosphere ..... Hands-down you will not find a better gym. Jay D.
