This place is beyond ridiculous, idk how they are still open. My grandma had stage 4 lung cancer.. she told the doctor she wanted to fight but the doctor straight up told her she was gonna die. (she was diagnosed with it for about 3 months) she was doing good, and the cancer doctor told her it was clearing up little by little, they then decided to put her on hospice, no one was aloud to see her 3 days before she died because of “covid restrictions” she did perfectly fine for 5 days breathing on her own.. what was weird about them putting her on hospice was her oxygen was fine that morning, she was texting back (quite quickly which was also weird) then the doctors called a couple hours later saying they were taking her off the ventilator.. when she passed and we went to collect her stuff, her phone nor wallet was to be found. Another thing that irks me is on her way to get something done they had 2 tanks of oxygen for her that were empty, she was having trouble breathing all the way there until ONE doctor noticed it and said something. I completely and highly do not recommend this hospital.. you go there and most likely will never leave there.

Can't say enough about the treatment and care received each time I've used Lapeer Regional Medical Center. Most recently for a total hip replacement! The staff from pre-admission testing to the OR staff to the floor staff and PT. All very caring, professional and kind. Communication was great. The OR staff made me feel that I was in very good hands and explained procedures well. Call light was always answered within seconds. A special thanks to Sherry, RN, day shift, Tina, night shift aide and Kim, day shift aide. These were who I had most contact with and they were great!

Terrible experience. Virtually every staff member had poor bedside manner and my needs were an inconvenience them. I was never examined by a doctor or even saw a doctor while I was there. Our calls to the nurses station were either completely ignored or brushed off. My wife resorted to asking staff members for help as they walked past my room, only to be told they’d get someone. If the staff or leadership is this incompetent, how can I trust my diagnosis is correct? I was left to suffer in agony for 9+ hours and felt as if I was forgotten about or at the very least a low priority. I’ve called the hospital to file a complaint and I was never called back. The attached photo is me laying on the ER lobby floor for hours waiting for a room.

Last week I went to the ER (first time) with severe pain from a kidney stone. After a quick meeting with a triage nurse, I was sent back to the waiting room to sit (in severe pain). I was then called for a CT scan, then again sent back to the Waiting room. After three hours, I finally got the strength to ask the nurse if anything was going to happen. She assured me that the doctor was going to be there soon. I waited another full hour (four total) and no doctor ever arrived and I was never even given an opportunity to lay down. I finally checked myself out and went home (had to remove a port from my arm myself). I understand that COVID is putting a strain on hospitals, but I also know apathy when I see it.
