Stopped by on a weekday for impromptu lunch on my way back from the Boston Public Library (1 block away). Without reservations, no issues with patio seating (which is non-reservable anyway). Based on some food blogs and overwhelming Google/Yelp reviews on these menu highlights, we tried the deluxe clam chowder and lobster roll. We enjoyed both. The lobster roll brioche was buttered and toasted perfectly, ample loaded buttery lobster topping and throughout (unlike the last place we tried that "fluffed a scant amount using lettuce)- this was $38. My only criticisms were that the clam chowder was on the salty side, and had 3 whole clams. The soup is heavy so easily shareable for 2, or even 3 small servings. Service was attentive at the table. However the young hostess at the front entrance took unusually long to greet us- we wondered if she might be hung over or strung out... Ambiance outdoors was good for people watching on Newberry street. Several pathway lamps were burnt out and could use light servicing. Overall would come again if in the area.

Thé best scallop I ever had! Thank you!

They have lots of hornets nests on the level wall between the front patio and the street. Drinking sweet wine and such fine foods, and it was good, attracted the pests on a warm day. This greatly hurt the experience as you can imagine. I often wonder why restaurant and hotel managers don’t dine at their locations to see what guests see. No personality from the server and expensive for the food. Guess it’s kind of a tourist trap. Reminded me why, as a Bostonian, I hardly ever go to Newbury St in the late summer. Wouldn’t go back, but don’t regret checking it off the list.

Awesome seafood! People are great, very personable.
Saltie Girl charges people $2 per person for "PPE" for their staff. They wear masks and tables are socially distanced for the most part
It's a first come first serve basis...no reservation you just have to wait until a table is available.
That's correct but you can drop your name and walk around Back Bay area and get a call back. So you can shop around while you wait.
No reservations, but they'll take your phone number and call when the table is available, so you can drop your name on the list and hit somewhere else.
