The people were nice but the pastor gave a not so uplifting sermon that left me feeling upset at his interpretation of Christian beliefs. I also didn’t appreciate his insinuation that world war 2 could have been avoided had we mentioned god in the treaty of Versailles, and he chose to make the service political in an uncomfortable way. I also didn’t find his sexist joke at the end very funny. It was the kind of obnoxious Facebook boomer humor that I don’t want to see when I try to attend a service. I won’t be returning. I chose this church because I’m catholic but I’d rather go to a Protestant service than this again!

From what I can gather and I am not an expert. I believe it started in a home of a parishioner in 1888 with three churches. Protestant Church, Lutheran Church and Catholic Church all held services in a tent. Ground was broke for St Michael's Church in March of 1924? The history of Palmer has a lot to do was people moving here from States like Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They were paid to move up here and start a colony from President Franklin D Roosevelt around the depression. Part of the New Deal plan? I believe maybe a few of the colonists are still alive but their families still reside in the valley. They are familiar names and people know their history. They began St Michael's in a log Church where the Lutheran church now stands. Saint Michael used to own all the land where all three churches are and gave the land so that the other religions could build their own church. Dedication history is on a big rock in Lutheran parking lot.
