When the Middletown Planet Fitness is attached to an abandoned building, when you have to navigate massive potholes in the parking lot, and when armed guards are required to remain parked outside so that gym goers aren't assaulted or their car broken into, it might be time to pick a different Planet Fitness. (Note: Planet Fitness as a company is great - I just can't recommend this location.)

I liked the friendly welcome, great equipment, it was clean but there are no chairs in the dressing rooms, no hooks to hang towels or clothes on. I didn't want to put my bag and things on the floor, fortunately there was one room with a bench and I snagged that one.

I want to make it clear that I never had a problem with the staff or anything about this particular gym. I'm rating low because at a company level PF is god awful to deal with. Unless you plan to be a member for the rest of your life with no pauses for when life happens, pick a different fitness company. Even by gym standards, cancelling or pausing membership is ridiculously difficult. And when you do manage to cancel, surprise, you'll still probably get charged. I'm apparently still going to get charged for another month I won't use because the charge is already pending a whole week before the actual bill date(if this was mentioned anywhere, it was well hidden). No offer of refund for this charge either, just waiving the late fee I'll get from my debit card inevitably being overcharged. Then I'm expected to make another trip to pay for this month of membership I never asked for whenever I can pull a spare $25 out of my broke college student heinie. I would be calling the billing department number about this IF IT EXISTED. All customer service routes seem to lead right back to the local club, AKA people who have no power over billing that I'd rather not continue pestering pointlessly.

Went to join today and the employees are pretty rude. Don't ask you about the place or if you needed help on Signing up? Not very perfectionism at all. April, I've been a Planet Fitness customer for 6 yrs. ANY location will offer you this deal! It's the best deal you will ever find for a gym membership; HOWEVER, I really would consider doing the $20 per deal over the $10 and here's why: For $20 a month, you can work out at ANY location AND take any guest, any time. With the $20 plan you get unlimited tanning, and Hydro-bed. Either is an UNMATCHED deal! You won't be sorry!

You could have sent a push notification to all app users. I came to the gym after work last night, and was caught completely off guard by the modified hours. There are no local mandates in this area which would prohibit staying open 24 hours, and I feel like it's being done to save money by cutting hours of employees. When I signed up for my membership, I was told the gym would remain 24/7 as long as they were legally allowed. I guess that was just another underhanded ploy to get a new membership on the books. Shame on you planet fitness

I would suggest speaking with management. I get frustrated at times because of the limited access due to overcrowding. Perhaps you could try a different time of day or different days of the week to simply avoid the problem altogether
You can bring in a guest whenever you are at the gym. They will just ask the guest for a phone number and name just to make things easier for the next time you go to the gym

Not if you know someone that has a "Black Card", which is a really odd name to choose for that membership plan. Like, " Well, I'm going to pull out my Black Card." I have a Black Card, but nobody wants to go with me. Though, you have to have an ID to get in at all, because. I imagine the Middletown location still hasn't fixed their television system, which can not show Jeopardy.

Be careful with this company, even with a month to month no contract, they tried to charge me for $600 better to find an honest company. You will see if you try to join and it's almost the same as buying a car.
