So many records - so little time! Generation Records was a great experience - from the customers engaging in conversation with each other to the employees taking requests while shopping.
Vito
An amazing vinyl record store located in downtown SOHO, NYC. To visit absolutely, shame about the very high prices (both new and used) compared to what can be found in Italy.

Yes. They have a small corner in the back filled with metal CDs as well as vinyl records. In terms of quality artists, you're better off going through the vinyls.
Yes you can but probably worth calling them up if there is a genre or specific thing you are after.
Yes, you'd be surprised by what you would find at this place
This store is more for independent artists. They have some pop, but not mich.
Yes I think you should find this there
Yes it does. I believe I saw a collection in the basement. Can't remember if I saw any on the 1st floor though.
I would say roughly around almost 30 years it's a good place to shop at good selection of music for your needs
They do
You have to wear a mask
Places known for its punk and indie collection
You should visit the store so you can dig stuff by yourself.
It is easier if you call why it is something specific. Although most likely yes.
You really have to find their website and ask then directly.
This is not generation, there are stores much closer than generation. What are you asking for the collection?
If you are here on a visit (business or vacation) the best thing is to have them ship it to your home address. Some cds could take up to three or four months if its an import from europe including England Germany etc. Local wise according to availability it could take 7 to 10 days to get it from a warehouse alone.
Hi, maybe, but not for sure, but worthy to go and try. Good luck!
They don't sell them there so they probably don't buy. Best to call
I suggest you take the A, C or E line in Times Square stop at West 4-Washington Square sta then walk for 5-10min to Generation Records.
