Cool small space away overlooking and away from the busyness of Hanover St. Everything we got was good to very good. The figs wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with goat cheese were easily the highlight - a special the day we were in. Don’t get the meatballs. Are they good? Yes, they’re fantastic. But you can make good meatballs at home. Get one of the other appetizers or try a special. The bolognese was bolognese - good, but not some you can’t miss. The lobster gnocchi was more interesting - with a brothy, almost soupy sauce. The gnocchi itself was a little undercooked, but the lobster was great.

Just spectacular! Some of the best Italian food I’ve had anywhere. Not rigidly traditional, instead creative and superbly prepared and presented. My wife had the Capesante alla Grigia, which is grilled scallops with roasted and mashed cauliflower along with prosciutto wrapped asparagus. The scallops were perfectly done. Fresh, tender and lightly charred on top with just a bit of smokiness. Heavenly! My dish was the Gnocchi con Aragosta, gnocchi with lobster in a tomato lobster broth with asparagus and tossed with truffle and fontina cheese. The gnocchi were just slightly al dente and the flavors were rich, varied and satisfying. The whole presentation and quality were so much better than the other restaurant we tried in the neighborhood which had a similar rating, but felt “tired. Too often we encounter big city Italian restaurants that are rated high based on a reputation established years ago, but not reflective today. This was our last day in Boston and really wanted to end with a satisfying experience. Arya Trattoria did not disappoint! This will be our go to restaurant next time we visit!
