This place is awesome. A friend of mine needed glasses badly. His insurance company(Polk County Health) sent him to My Eye Doctor in Winter Haven. He thought he was finally going to be able to see. But when he got there, they did the eye exam and then sent him over to where you pick out the glasses that you want. So over he went and pick out a pair. Then he went back to the person who was helping him. She informed him that he now owe $44 dollars for the eye exam and $269 for the glasses. Now Polk County Health is for indigent people who do not have anyway to pay for health insurance. They only paid for the eye exam, except for the $44 dollars they were trying to collect. The insurance did not cover the eye glasses themselves. I don't know about you but doesn't it seem a little stupid to cover the eye exam, but not the glasses! Really. Why bother, you know? Just saying. So he call the WeCare Center in Winter Haven because he was told that they might help him. When he called, he was treated with respect and got very good service there. It took him maybe 5 to 10 minutes on the phone with one of there staff members and they did his application. He was told that someone would get back in touch with him when a decision was made. Trying to get a call back from most of these kind of places, is like trying to get a hold of somebody at any of our State Offices. It isn't going to happen. The WeCare Center was back in touch with the next day. Letting him know he was approved and a voucher was on it's way. He got that voucher today in his mail, like promised and the he will soon be able to see again. Maybe, he will be able to write his own review. But I was so impressed with the WeCare Center, I had to write about them. They are a not for profit organization and they really do "Care". If you are ever considering donating to something this year, this us a great place to bless them with your donation. Thank-you WeCare for just being there and Caring. You doing awesome in our community.......
