Wakefield DHS Office

You can go to the registry of motor vehicles, which is upstairs in the same Bldg as DHS. You do not need an appt. First come, first served. Not sure what documents you'll need to bring. But I do know you can call DMV and get the info you need. Also, you can forget trying to reach a real person at DHS. Oh, you might get an operator (after waiting for a very long wait) only to be put on hold for the entire hours of operation.(Did that for 1 week). Finally I was offered a ride to DHS. Imagine my 😮 surprise when I found only 3 employees and NO customers! Upon more investigating, I was able to find out, from the humans, that the phone # on all DHS correspondences(the only main #) is a hoax, a joke, it's not a number you can use. You have to go to your local office for all inquiries. All I can say is, if u have no way to get there, then I hope you have two good working legs and a strong back. Pretty lame for what's called "The Dept of Human services🙄 One of THE most important Dept in RI
