This place is sickening. Get ready to wait there for hours on end, tell you to call ahead of time and they never answer the phone, I was literally sitting in the lobby and even called WHILE in the lobby to talk to come and all 3 times they didn’t bother. Heck even when I stopped and others were calling they still took their sweet time to answer. Like wow. One came up and just looked around and went back. Talk about clueless. Ready for an all day event? Need to get away from your nagging wife or nonstop questions from your children? Head on to Talecris! Want to be invisible 🫥 like you don’t exist and watch people get upset like a jerry springer show? You guest it, COME ON OVER TO TALECRIS! Where you’re better off selling your plasma on the black market!

Proceed With Caution. The challenges with this organization began on the telephone. I was spoken to in a very disrespectful fashion on the telephone then hung up on. To add insult to injury, when I made the effort to call back to report this incident, the same employee hung up on me four times. I called the Canton location who provided a national number to call and I have never heard back from them. Two days after the incident I was finally able to reach the assistant manager who did not seem to be too concerned about what took place. While at the location I witnessed multiple people outside the entrance smoking, the lights were burned out in the bathroom and it was not clean, and a man filled with rage slammed the door violently while he was leaving the clinic. The level of apathy was alarming and there was no security present. Upon arrival, I was not even greeted by the front desk staff. I made several efforts to say hello and was ignored until a woman walked up to me and handed me a clip board and started reciting instructions. After two hours of a very involved process, I was informed I would not be able to donate plasma. I encouraged the staff to reach out to their doctors on staff to seek clarity. Since my visit, two separate medical doctors have have told me tinnitus would not be a reason to donate plasma. After almost three weeks I finally received a phone call from a woman who is apparently a supervisor at the local office here in Akron. Once again I felt like there was a complete lack of any empathy, and a complete unwillingness to listen. I have never donated plasma or blood and was looking forward to the opportunity to serve. This organization and the staff made an already stressful situation much worse. If you have the ability to seek a different location to donate, I would encourage you to do so.

First time donor. Great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hit the vein the first try, everything went perfectly, no pain at all. Expect to be there at least 3-4 hours the first time. Wear short sleeves, but bring something to cover up with while donating, it's cold in the donation room.

I have been going there q few months now.And a few times I get there and been told I had to leave because they have no staff ? Then on 2-3-22 I go to get their and a sign on door says ,this site will be closing early today do weather ? They couldn't let donors know beforehand? And to top it off,I use public transportation .Had to wait 40 min in the freezing cold for next 🤔 bus .Unfair to Donors not keeping open o hrs they say ?

I have donated at the plasma center on 30th St in Canton Ohio for 3yrs off and on...only with my left arm because my tattoos cover the other to much...would I be able to donate at the Akron plasma center with the same situation...

Lexi Marie | Jan 15, 2019
Fairfax | Jan 16, 2019

As long as there is a 3x3 inch space on the inside of your elbows not covered by tattoos, you should be fine to donate. If the Canton center allows you to donate, I'd guess you're probably fine.

Is this the same company that runs csl ?

If you are a new donor, is it better to go earlier in the day or later? How much do they pay new donors?

Kelly Whaler | Jan 15, 2019
Billy | Jan 16, 2019

Its better to go early, expect to be there for 3 hrs and they pay you around a total of 175-200 after 3 new donations, after that its 25 first donation and 45 second, depending on month.

How long does it take to donate? Like time in the door to starting donation.

Strawman Fallacy | Jan 15, 2020
Christopher Nicodemus | Jan 16, 2020

1.75 hours is probably average.
