The library itself is great. Great activities for the kids. For the most part staff is kind, polite and very helpful. But on 7/29/2022 I went in with my 2 girls. 6.5yo and 4.5yo to join the Lego Club. My 4.5yo had to use the restroom (which was right around the corner). I asked my 6.5 yo if she had to use the restroom, she said no and that she will stay working on her Legos. The lady (Nancy the librarian)sitting at the desk interrupted and said that if my daughter wants to run off, she can run off. That's she's not responsible if something happens to my daughter. (Agree! But my daughter does follow directions well. But, the way she went about talking about the situation to others as if was not present, was rude and disrespectful) Clearly, she does not have compassion or even care for children. She should not be working with children at all, because any good person would never let anything ever happen to anyone else's child. Just be aware of that! Other than this particular situation, it's a great library We will continue to visit Grinnell Library.

I'm biased, as a Friend at the Grinnell Library, meaning the group which offers volunteers, and fundraisers. Have you visited your local library recently? Have you been to its website? The doors are constantly opening and closing with patrons met by a friendly, informed staff.

The Grinnel Library is small however, if you are an avid reader, and love a good mystery and thriller this Library is the right one for, convenient in it's location. Enjoy, happy reading.

We have a small collection of gently used books for sale. $1 for hardcovers, $.50 for adult paperbacks, and $.25 for juvenile material. We also sell music CDs and DVDs for $1.00
