My wife and I recently booked the Calm Bay Fishing charter offered by Pure Florida. This was our first experience with charter fishing. We had a great time! This charter was advertised as a charter that only went out a small ways in the gulf and is good for first timers and people with children. They provide you with rod and reels and bait. We arrived at the Pure Florida marina, next to Tin City in Naples, around 8am and meet the crew of the Naples Explorer. Captain Josh and his First Mate Dylan. There were 8 other people who booked the charter, including a family with two children. We went out about 2 miles into the Gulf to a small wreck where Capt. Josh said there would be fish. The Gulf was calm and it was a beautiful morning. The crew set up the rods and reels and gave us shrimp for bait. The crew would bait the hooks for you if you wanted, however my wife and I baited our own most of the time. We fished from the back of the boat and everyone else from the sides. We caught 6 fish, 2 mangrove snapper, 2 pork fish( beautiful yellow,black and white topicals), a striped Benny and a soap fish. We were able to keep the mangrove snappers and Capt. Josh fillet them for us when we got back to the marina. You can cook them yourself or have 2 of the nearby restaurants at Tin City cook them for you. Capt. Josh and First Mate Dylan were polite, helpful and very knowledgeable about their boat, the area and fishing. Thanks guys! I will say a word about fishing with shrimp as bait. You need to check your hook about every 5 mins if your Not getting a bite. We learned quickly that the fish can take it off the hook and you might not feel it. The more you check your hook and keep bait on it, the more fish you'll catch. Remember, you paid for the bait, use it. Happy fishing!

Best local fishing charter that I have ever been on. The captain Rich was the nicest captain I have ever had. Highly recommend go out with them for any fish trip you want to go on.

We went on the 1.5 hour day cruise. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! As we cruised around, the captain and crew narrated. It was very informative. The views were amazing and we even had dolphins swim alongside the boat. I would highly recommend this tour!
