In all my years renting from budget never have i had to do a credit check for a car i paid and was told if my credit score was below 600 i would be denied the car i paid for already then I had to physically pull up my insurance online and show the clerk i had insurance then the clerk asked if i had full coverage i said yes guess what had to proof that too. is this a Cape Coral, pine island thing cause all my years renting from budget i never had this happen before

I’ve been renting from Budget for 20+ years and this was the worst experience. I rented a SUV (Toyota Highlander) for a day trip and the it looked more like someone’s personal vehicle. It had multiple scratches and dents, there was pet hair EVERYWHERE, and it WREAKED of cigarette smoke! The seats were stained and the wash guy, who looked like a teenager, did a poor job of cleaning the interior. I prepaid and registered online to make pick up easier and I was still there for 2 hours. I DO NOT recommend this location.

Worst experience ever. I was online and booked my car. I was traveling for a lived one that had a kidney and liver transplant so I needed to get in a car and go not knowing where I was goi to need up or if I needed to connect to a flight last minute. There’s a box that says “return to same location” that was checked so I unchecked it. The agent I spoke with was not very nice or accommodating. Upon getting to rental agency she asked if I was returning to same location which I said “no” My rental went from approximately $389 to approximately $869. I said that at that rate I would drive to the airport and drop the bank car off the next day and that was ridiculous. Her reply was “your still getting charged regardless” I may not have been I. The right state of mind due to the situation I was facing, but really? The car was a mustang and was already beat to death, there was an awful noise coming from the right front tire so I called another location and they said basically the cars are first come first server and they had no other cars so now I have the joy of a pos car that was howling so loud I was literally going crazy. The transmission shifted super hard and it seemed to have a few blown speakers as well. They are the absolute worst to deal with and never again will I even consider them when renting a car. I spoke with 4 people on the phone and literally nobody even gave it a thought.
